The Sheffield City Giants

Welcome to the Home Page of the Sheffield City Giants!

The Sheffield City Giants are the UK's only Catalan-style processional giants. They are about 14 feet tall, weigh around 9 stone, and each is carried by one person. Accompanied by the Giants Big Band, the Giants appear in processions and perform a number of dances.

The Giants were made for the City of Sheffield at the time of the World Student Games in 1992. They were built by one of Catalunya's foremost giant-makers, Jordi Grau Martí. At the time, they were placed in the care of the Sheffield City Morris Men who performed and looked after them for the City. Since then, the Giants team has become an autonomous group and has grown to include a very wide range of local musicians and dancers.

The team prides itself on being open to all and on dancing the UK's most elegant giants to the highest standards.
